Stupid lights

It only took us about five years to get around to cutting the non-functional lights out of our Christmas tree. (Previously, we just strung working lights on top.) It took about two hours with wire cutters and a lot of patience… the pile is the end result. Phew!

The buffet is open!

We trimmed various greenery yesterday and set it out on the curb in bundles per City guidelines. Not half an hour later, the crowds were stopping traffic on the street.

Future astronomer

Portia was checking out planets, including Saturn's rings and the four moons of Jupiter, using Daddy's spotting scope in our front yard the other night.

Side note: it was really dark and I used no flash - iphone photo technology is amazing.
