Tired Puppy

Kiwi was so exhausted from a weekend of duck and goose hunting in Port Lavaca that she didn't even notice the doggy treat I slid in front of her nose.

A bored dog at sunrise

We watched a beautiful sunrise this morning during a very slow goose hunt.

Shopping Adventures

When we got to Target on Saturday, they had a small scene from Frozen set up. Yes, despite a complete lack of princesses in our household, we have also been taken over by Frozen. So Graydon was very excited to get to be Sven the Reindeer and hang out with Olaf (the snow man).

Wiley, on the other hand, is less impressed by the whole Frozen thing. But he made sure he checked off all the items on his list at Costco.

Playground refurb

We helped the boys' preschool spruce up their playground this morning. Graydon spent a good half hour perched on top of the mulch pile with all the Daddies filling up wheelbarrows. Wiley was very confused by all the action on "his" playground and stood transfixed at the top of the slide for at least 10 minutes.

Halloween 2014

As usual, we ended up with more candy than we gave out this year. But a good time was had by amphibious superheroes, Sesame Street characters, and boring, undressed-up adults alike. We walked the neighborhood, did some trick-or-treat-ing, and hung out at the annual neighborhood Halloween party. Wiley, in true Cookie Monster form, ate his own weight in pizza. Graydon dutifully ate a slice and then went right back to his candy haul.

At the fire hall

We all had a great time hanging out with some very friendly firemen at the fire station last weekend. Mami and Ralf got to spray the fire hose along with all of the kids. Daddy was impressed with the cabinet full of chain saws on the fire truck.

Longhorn Alumni Band

Daddy and Gramps marched with the Longhorn Alumni Band at the UT vs.Iowa State football game. Graydon was very impressed with the size of Big Bertha (the enormous bass drum that Longhorn Band has used for many years). Wiley continues to love all things musical, even Gramps's baritone. Everyone watched the long parade down to the stadium. It was kind of a whirlwind first weekend for poor Ralf - but he managed to keep up with the Tanner Family lifestyle quite well!
