Love this bedtime routine

Both Wiley and Portia go to bed eagerly these days so they can have time to read before lights-out. Parenting is hard so you have to celebrate the wins!!

Stunned Wren

Found this little one on the back porch this morning. Kiwi gave it one sniff but dutifully left it alone in response to my command to "leave it!" It was sitting very still but breathing hard. Texted Nana a photo who suggested it might be stunned. That makes sense - it was sitting right by our patio doors with the big panes of glass... maybe it flew into one. Left some water for it and checked on it mid-morning. It had moved to hide under the folds of the lounge chair cushion. By noon it was gone. Phew!

Oh, and here is the “before”

I promised I wouldn't post this particular photo of him so I cropped out his face. But the hair was worth preserving for posterity!

He let me cut his hair!!!

Barely awake

Somebody had awesome hair this morning when I woke her up. I told her she looked like a lion ("roar!") and she laughed and we were on our way.

“Concrete”

That is how Portia likes her cream of wheat in the morning. As in so hard and dense that the spoon will stay standing up when you stick it in.

Innovated pizza

Since I got *two* comments about my pizza innovation yesterday, here is the "after" photo. Clips removed and ready for the oven. I was proud enough of my approach that I bought more clips so now I can do two pizzas at the same time!

Pizza Innovation?

The dang dough would just not stop shrinking back onto a ball in the middle... chip clips helped.

See that grin?

That is what happened to the grumpy "I don't want to try out for swim team this year" tween-ager after he hit the water and did a few laps in our neighbor's pool.

Geraniums!

I don't think my geraniums have ever been this beautiful. I've enjoyed them every day for several weeks now.

Pandemic Peaches???

Looks like the tree that Graydon planted last year is already bearing fruit. Let's see how this goes with all the squirrels around...

Happy Easter!

Cub —> Scout

Graydon "crossed over" to being a Scout this weekend.
