Just in case...
... anyone was worried Portia was turning into too much of a princess, behold our resident lasagne monster! These were leftovers from this weekend. We learned from the original meal that it was best to strip her down to her diaper. We might actually hose her off before we go back inside...!

Happy Easter!
We had everyone all dressed up, so we took a few photos!
When taking photos of kids, it is inevitable that you get more photos looking like this:
Than like this:
I also like this one (I can just hear her saying, "Mami, what are you doing to me in this dress and what is it with this bow on my head?!? May I go play in the mud puddles now, please?"):
We'll take what we can get!

Thomas Underwear!
After resisting any suggestion at leaving his diapers behind him for the last several months, Wiley decided he wanted to wear his Thomas underwear this morning. We had a couple of puddles around the house, but managed to deposit a nugget in the potty - to great acclaim. Daddy kept him company on his potty sessions. Let the fun begin! (In case anyone is wondering, Graydon was essentially potty trained by his daycare way back when... so this is one thing we are figuring out for the first time!)

Geese & bluebonnets
A message from Nana and Gramps at the Lake came in today and I like it so much I'm going to share:
We've had resident geese lately and they seem to like what they're finding in the bluebonnets. As you can see, we are losing bluebonnets to the rising lake level. Sad, but it is nice to have more water than we've had in 8 years.

Stutzeböckele!
Until this post, Nana didn't even know there was a German (schwäbisch!) word for what she was doing with Portia. But she sure turned Portia's pout into a smile quickly!
PS: This is one of the few words that even Google can't find! But I'm going to stick to my spelling. It finds "stutzenböckeln" als a verb in the neighboring Pfälzisch dialekt. I've just used it in the diminutive, Schwäbisch noun form. :)
