Saying Goodbye to the Old House

We went by the old place one last time yesterday to turn in our keys and say goodbye.

Can't you see I'm busy here?

The orange recycling truck was a gift from friends in Germany. Graydon (and Mami) liked it so much that Mami ordered the fire truck so that Graydon would have a new toy to go with the new house.

Better safe than sorry

Note the earthquake anchoring on the top of each shelving unit. (I apologize to whoever is out there that really doesn't care about our moving efforts and is just looking for cute pictures of Graydon)

A major milestone

We have moved enough stuff from the garage into the house to fit my bike (and trailer) into the garage.

Wind up toy

Graydon was terrified of this toy, but kept asking us to make it go. He would watch with glee while hiding behin our legs. By the time we took the video, he had largely gotten over his fear, but still loved watching it dance.

On the other end

The unpacking progress is at least more fun than packing.

Almost done

It still needs to be cleaned, but all the stuff is at least gone now.

Friends

Graydon went and stayed with a friend today so that Mami and Daddy could pack. Aren't friends great? Thank you!

How did we get this much stuff?

We've taken 8 Subaru loads and 5 pickup loads over and staged them in the garage at the new place. What remains is generally either furniture or miscellaneous stuff that we can't figure out how to sort into boxes...

Let's go guys!

We borrowed a truck from a friend for our move and it didn't take Graydon long to find his seat.

Trend setter

Graydon really wanted to put his shoes on this morning, even though he was still wearing his pajamas.

Swimming at the pool

Eva thinks he looks like a windup toy. (Hopefully the video will be a little bit better now. The water surface is wreaking havoc on youtube's compression algorithms...)
