Happy Easter!

Many things going on Easter Sunday - after church, most of it was in our back yard! First, we hunted Easter eggs, then carefully excavated our concrete "sea creatures" that we had created yesterday with spare concrete leftover from setting fence posts. They turned out pretty well - though the jellyfish lost one of its tentacles. Next time, our sea creatures will need rebar reinforcement! :) Meanwhile, our favourite space cadet was enjoying the view of the sky spinning above him...

Dripping Springs earns its name

After all the rain of the last few weeks, Dripping Springs is once again earning its name. And Kiwi sure enjoyed hanging out in the creek while we cut cedar saplings. All the kids enjoyed "helping" with the feeder. She was hesitant at first, but after Portia saw Wiley climb to the top of the ladder, nothing was going to stop her. No photos (too bad) but she did make it all the way up - several times!

Besties

With Graydon at school every day for most of the day, Wiley and Portia have grown very close. Wiley often climbs into her crib, where they wrestle, hang out, bounce, and create general mayhem together. Wiley loves being the big brother and taking care of his little sister and Portia is very fond - and in her own way protective - of her big brother "Wyee!"

Mixed up

I think the boys got their shorts mixed up...

I am having premonitions about Portia 12-13 years from now...

April in Texas

The weather was not warm, but the water was!

Mami plays Beach Volleyball!

My colleagues and I played at a charity beach volleyball tournament this weekend. A few things of note: the crazy storms held off until we were done, I conveniently forgot my team t-shirt (who wants to wear something that says "XXL" anyway?!?), we actually won a whole match for the first time in the five years that I have played in this tournament, and we all came out with just a pile of sore muscles but no serious injuries! Oh, and we helped raise money for Water for People - one of the most effective charities for getting water to the developing nation communities that need it most!
