Blind Beets
We had beets for dinner and Graydon was refusing to try them (I not like them!) even though he has never had them before. Mami eventually got tired of this and told him to close his eyes and open his mouth, and when he dutifully complied, she popped a beet in his mouth. He suddenly decided that they tasted yummy and started requesting more. The amusing part was that he insisted upon eating them with his eyes closed!

Work Weekend
We went out to Nana and Gramps' house for the weekend and with Gramps in the infirmary there were a few chores that needed catching up on. After the amount that they helped us with moving (and sleeping in on the weekends) it was definitely our turn to help out.
Graydon seems to have completely gotten over his fear of the lawn tractor and was eager to drive whenever he could.
First up on the agenda was cutting up all of the tree branches that came down in last week's thunderstorms. This was also Mami's first introduction to wielding a chainsaw.
Graydon helped Nana pick up the resulting firewood and of course took the opportunity to drive the tractor.
With all of the rain recently, the cattle guard at the driveway had finally filled all the way up with sand from the road. Mami and Daddy spent several hours hoeing, shoveling, hauling, and raking about 2 cubic meters of sand. We are both somewhat sore today.

And as always, Graydon was a big help. He, of course, raked the sand to exactly where we wanted it to go...

Modern technology kid
Graydon has figured out that the space bar re-plays YouTube videos. (I didn't even know that!). Here he is watching the video of Gramps with the leaf blower over, and over, and over, and over...

Climbing Trees
Graydon was a very adventurous climber today (along with his friend Conner). Waaay up in the trees - with a little help from Daddy (can you spot the spotter?)
What have we done?
We put down a deposit today for a yellow lab puppy. They're only three weeks old and just started walking yesterday. We'll go back in 3-4 weeks to pick out a specific pup (our deposit puts us fourth in line for 9 pups) and then take it home as soon as we move into the new house.
