The same words, three years apart!

This week, Wiley brought home his sea turtle art from school (right). About this time three years ago, Graydon brought home his (left). Different art (and Wiley's is on the back anyway) but very much the same spelling "see trtol(s)!"

Three kids on the “dancing rock”

Reading with Granddad

Always a favourite activity.

Canadian Scouts!

These enterprising young men (the ones in ties, anyway) showed up after dark one evening and asked Großmama whether they could camp for the night. Of course she said yes. In the morning, the Tanner boys (Cub Scout and Cub-Scout-in-training, respectively) were excited to meet real life Canadian Scouts!

The competition was fierce

And both had a great time!

Lions and Tigers and Be...rries, Oh My!

The dry weeks before our arrival took their toll on the blueberry crop, but a hike up blueberry hill yielded a whole large peanut butter jar full again this year. Crepes were had for breakfast almost every morning - of course.

Dancing on a rock

Portia was singing and dancing on this rock. Of course she stopped when I tried to take a picture.

Kirschenmichel with Ice Cream

So I'm not usually one to Instagram my food... but this is such an iconic part of summer in Ste Em, it just belongs. A big scoop of vanilla ice cream (Coaticook!) on top of warm Kirschenmichel... mmmmmmm.

Spaghetti with a view!

More Ste Em

Let's hope this post goes through...!

Public Service Announcement

Just so everyone knows, we haven't intentionally stopped posting to the blog. We've just been experiencing technical difficulties (posts being returned as "undeliverable"). Sorry everyone has been cut off for a while but we're doing our best to get things back on track. You might see more posts with fewer photos each in the future as total size of email attachments seems to make a difference.

Catch-up Post from Ste Emelie

We had a wonderful time in Canada visiting with the Steinle/Darling/Zschiegner part of the family!

A new soccer season had begun!

Not quite like we had planned it...

So I take back my kudos for American Airlines. They canceled our flight from Philadelphia to Montreal tonight! The best they could do was get us to Burlington, VT, from whence we have a 4:15am Greyhound bus reservation... yuck. Ironically enough, our checked bags flew "stand-by" on a later flight and have already arrived in Montreal...!

Fwd: Guess who got his first flying lesson today!

Wiley peeked around the corner into the cockpit as we were boarding the plane and the purser had him deliver the Captain his Diet Sprite... and took all these photos for us while we found our seats. Big bonus points for American Airlines today. :)
