The worker, in progress

Our newest work-in-progress

One step closer to being finished - we picked the paint / stain colours for the deck! After one false start on the brown (and being very impressed with Lowe's for letting us exchange $50 worth of "Belgian chocolate" for "Fudge!) we're pretty happy with our selection (Fudge and Cedar Naturaltone). The deck itself is still a work-in-progress but the test section on the railing looks pretty good!

Who wants him?

He's all packed up and ready to ship! (Yes, this is the size box in which we get supplies for Wiley - diapers and cereal - from Amazon...!)

All ready to go...

He even knows how it's supposed to go (he tried emulating the motions when I showed him how to push down on the pedals alternatively). Too bad he can still reach only one at a time! Soon, though...

The importance of dynamic range

I was struck by the weather map in today's paper. Sure looks like we're enjoying some nice cool weather... until you realize that the "ice blue" color denotes the 70-80F (21-27C) temperature range. Today's forecast high in "medium-yellow" Austin is 92F (33C). You don't get to the "it's really hot" red until temperatures climb over 110F (43C). Good thing we're headed for cooler climes in August...!

Playscape substantially complete!

The playscape is finally "substantially complete"!

Neal and Gramps put the last roof board on the second tower this afternoon.

But not before the next major project was started...
