Scrumptious Christmas Dinner

Never mind that it took place a few days after Christmas, our dinner last night was truly fantastic! The goose was moist and tender with a crispy, well-seasoned crust, the drippings made great gravy, we had Knödel to spare, and the palette of pickled cabbage colours rounded out the meal. Yummm!

Graydon rocks the skis

On snow, this time!


 The photo is from his first time at the top of the chair lift at Val Saint Côme.

Lunch of pizza and fries was also a hit (and of course, Mami had poutine). 

This first video is from the beginning of the day, getting his ski legs back on the bunny hill.

This second one is from just about an hour later. Vive la difference! 

Afterwards, back at the cabin, we warmed up with some 1980s-vintage Nesquick - the best! Graydon and Mami decided getting to spend the day together skiing was the best Christmas present yet!

Muklucks

Graydon tried to carry a few too many muklucks on snow shoes.

Wiley loves "skating" in the stroller. He especially enjoyed playing "Wiley hockey" (he was the puck) with Uncle Ian and Daddy. Whenever he ended up in the net he would raise his hands up and yell "I scored!".

Wiley the explorer

Wiley was the only one light enough to walk on top of the ice crust without falling through, so he went off and explored down this trail by himself. His desperately wanted to climb the hillside so that he could slide down it, but the ice was too slick.

Sleeping Portia !

Portia fell asleep this morning on my back while we were out for a walk in the snow :-)

brrrr it's cold!

It was very windy and cold that's probably why Portia isn't looking that happy.. but her mommy does !

Skating is like riding a bike

It's been two years since Graydon first learned to skate. Looks like he didn't forget how!

Graydon finally lost his first tooth yesterday - just in time for Christmas!

Wiley had a Christmas play in school today and was a super cute shepherd ! Portia liked to watch her big brother :-)

Santa's Helper

Graydon is being a big help with Mami's Christmas card effort this year. He stuffed envelopes, licked and sealed them, and is helping write addresses!

Brrr today was a cold day !
