Portia kicked my teeth out

After all the distractions of the last few days I was finally in my office trying to get some work done when Wiley entered and announced "Portia kicked my teeth out."

When we bought this house I thought "whatever will we do with 1000 square feet of deck area!" What a silly question. It has been a tricycle race course, bubble blowing arena, basketball court, grilling and hang-out area, and many other things. Today, add playing in the snow!

Winter update

It was -15C overnight but we kept power - phew! At some point today, over 60% of Austin did not have power. We've reached out to friends and co-workers to make sure everyone has a safe warm place to be.

It has warmed up substantially and the kids have been playing out there for a few hours now. I'll send a few more photos to follow up.

In another case of pandemic-do-it-yourself-ism, I was asked to provide a head shot for an upcoming virtual council meeting. Realized my last head shots were from 2014! So I needed a new one. Enter the iPhone selfie head shot. I thought the no-make-up look was appropriate, given the circumstances.

Riding in the bed of a truck

All kids, big and small, seem to like riding in the bed of a truck. Here they are headed to fill up the feeder at Dripping Springs.
