The Motherlode!
Graydon managed to find his way (unaided!) into a basket of freshly washed laundry this morning. The basket contained a number of his burp cloths (i.e., snuggle blankets), which were obviously the main attraction.

Graydon the Retriever
We keep telling Graydon that we'll get him a dog before long, but we might be able to just train him instead...
Countermeasures
Graydon loves being outside so we wanted to make it easier to let him play in the backyard. We couldn't find a seven foot baby gate at the store, so we built our own. It may not be too long before he figures out how to climb over this one, but I've already warned him that given the pile of lumber in the shop (see the post from a couple of weeks ago), that's an arms race that he is going to lose.
Cool Kid
Graydon has recently decided that it is fun to climb into the refrigerator and explore all of its contents. Luckily, I don't think that the door can actually close with him in it.

Graydon on the slide
We've been working with graydon on how to go down stairs safely (backwards). He was pretty quick to generalize this concept to the slide at the park this morning.

Look, no falls!
This video is from about a week ago. It illustrates just how far Graydon has come in his walking (for all the distant friends and family):
Mami's Big Find
Look at what Mami and Graydon found on their walk this morning. All this in some cases quite nice lumber was neatly stacked by the curb. We even got official permission from the owner to haul it all away. Some people might question my sanity in telling Neal there was such a "treasure" to be had (where are we going to put it all?!?) but I couldn't resist. The look on his face says it all... :)

What are you looking at?
I've had one really cool Tasmanian Devil badaid laying around for a while waiting on a worthy application. I mean, why waste a cool bandaid on your foot where nobody will be able to see it? I figured that my son's forehead, on the other hand, was about as good of a use as I could hope for.

Auntie Susan would say...
Yup, he's a Darling...! This event added another two stitches to Graydon's lifetime total. We're on our way home now with a very tired baby who will hopefully feel much better in the morning!
Not again!
Our super bowl watching (and pizza making) was interrupted by another learning to walk incident. We're at the clinic waiting on what we're expecting to be a stitch or two. We'll know more once they wash it out.

Yummy steak....
He quickly moved on from the potato to bigger and better things. He stuck his fork in Eva's steak but didn't have the hand/wrist to lift it so Mami had to help.
