Portia on (the) Deck

We were just hanging out but the lighting was nice so I snapped a couple of iPhone photos and I thought these turned out cute.

Barton Creek Greenbelt

We had a very fun (and wet!) hike along the Barton Creek Greenbelt with friends this morning! With the recent rains, the creek was pretty full and the rapids were impressive. Kiwi just wished we had brought a ball along to chase, but swimming in a current is fun, too! The kids all go soaked but it's warm, so that was ok. Portia and her friend Beckett (who just turned one) enjoyed their backpack rides.

Garden Bugle

Wiley has taken to "playing" the watering can. At this point he is mostly singing through it, but daddy has demonstrated that it does actually make a decent horn. Graydon has successfully gotten out its one well-resonant note as well.

Portia Can Walk!

After many months of mental preparation, Portia finally decided to "let go" and walk between Daddy and Graydon for the first time. And Graydon was SO excited to participate in her first steps! Here's a repeat performance from a few minutes later.

Portia's favorite foods

String cheese is far and away the winner. But she also likes any kind of meat, broccoli gets her really excited, she likes pasta (of course!), strawberries, yogurt, bread, all sorts of pancake-type things, peanut butter (and jelly)... Really, anything edible is great!

You Wanna Ride, Wiley?

This is what Graydon asked after donning our baby backpack this weekend. The last time this backpack was seen outside the depths of our hall closet, Wiley was riding in it. So it's no surprise Graydon thought that's who would be riding in it again! But it seems our eldest is still missing a sense of scale - both in terms of what will fit in what, and what he can carry! (Note the hip straps hanging at his kneecaps...) Sorry, nobody took any photos of Mami carrying Portia in the backpack for the first time. :(
