First tomato!
Guess it's not surprising, given that it's been really hot around here recently. Today's high is forecast to be 88F (that's 31C). And it's only March!! Mami is getting worried about how she's going to survive her first summer in Austin...
Does it help to say "be careful"?
Daddy trimming trees with a chain saw at the top of a 20-food ladder. Graydon and Mami watched with trepidation. But everybody was fine, including the tree.

It passed!
In order to not incriminate myself in public, I will resist the temptation to list all of the things that are still wrong with it.
If you want to read more about the truck, it now has its own blog. There's not much content up yet (I've been working on my tax return instead), but it will happen eventually this whole project is an exercise in patience...

The great onion transplant
We have a ton of what we think are green onions / chives growing all over the backyard and driveway.

Cars
Graydon was using colored paperclips to mark how far which cars rolled after coming down the ramp from the coffee table. However, at some point he started using the paperclips as parking bumpers as evidenced in the picture below. I wonder if he's trying to imply that Daddy can't park (the green car).

Reading a book in a basket
I was working in the office and noticed a disconcerting silence throughout the house. This is what I found.

A Texas compact car
I like to park in the front row of spots in the parking garage at work. You can see my car (left front) fits nicely into these compact parking spots. Yesterday I came out to find this full-sized truck parked in the spot next to me, sticking way out into the aisle in the garage. It was backed further into the spot than I was. Guess that's what they call a "compact" car here in TX!!
