Bird Rescue

An industrious bird had made a very nice nest inside our aluminum canoe where it was hanging upside down in the boat shed. Unfortunately, we did not discover the nest until AFTER we had turned the canoe right side up and dumped the birds out of the nest and into the bottom of the canoe! Mami sprang into action, relocating the nest and all six baby birds to a new home on top of an unused windsurfer.

Tree Trimming

Nana and Gramps had a big windstorm at the lake a few days ago that broke off a bunch of tree limbs. Daddy got to climb one of the elm trees to clean up some of the damage.

Großmama and Portia

They enjoyed a snuggle and several books this evening.

Kiwi is enjoying the new sky lights

The new larger sky lights let a lot of light into our playroom and Kiwi enjoys the warm spots on cooler days. The contrast also makes for some funny photos... beam me up, Scotty?

Wiley’s special request

This photo deserves its own post! Wiley requested "doughnuts with the holes inside them" instead of birthday cake. So that is what he got!

Better late than never...!

Wiley finally got his long-anticipated gymnastics-themed birthday party this weekend. He really enjoyed it!

The first day swimming in Ms. Nancy's pool was a little chilly... it was good to have a warm sibling to cuddle with afterwards!

Cap 10k rained out

Gramps, Daddy, Graydon, and Claudia we're going to run the capitol 10k this morning, but the race got rained out due to heavy lightning and flooding along the course. We're going to have to look for an alternate race to run together.

Playing in the Rain!

It must be spring in Texas. Tornado warning be darned, the kids loved playing in our first torrential rain storm of the season.

Math Pentathlon Silver Medalist

Wiley went to his first math pentathlon tournament this weekend and won 4 out of his 5 games!

Baking with Friends

Baking with a friend is even better than baking alone. Portia had a nice play date with her friend Elle this morning. And the rest of us enjoyed their cookies, too!
